Leslie welcomes you to her beautiful workshop for an introduction to sewing. Are you ready? Then let's go!Â
After selecting the fabric of your choice, you can choose between 2 different models. The designer will then take the time to explain to you some sewing basics.
Then, with the help of a pattern made by Leslie, you will cut out the different pieces needed to create a beautiful kimono.Â
The fashion designer will then guide you in the use of the sewing machine by teaching you some basic techniques. The assembly stitch, the lock stitch, hemming, and even rib stitching will no longer hold any secrets for you.Â
After a few finishing touches with the serger, your kimono jacket will be ready to wear on a daily basis!Â
You will leave this introductory session with your own creation and, most importantly, a great deal of newly acquired knowledge to put straight to use during future sewing projects!Â
Workshop location
Leslie's workshop is located close to the Parc de Forest, accessible by public transportation.
This place is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Sewing is a family affair for Leslie! Her grandmother made clothes for all her children and her mother spent her evenings in front of her sewing machine, creating her clothes and her own.
At a very young age, she had fun assembling pieces of fabric together and creating clothes for her dolls. However, her parents refused to allow her to make her passion her profession, and so, she turned to scientific studies. She became a dietician but did not find fulfilment in this, a profession that failed to enthuse her.Â
She then decided to leave everything behind and return to her childhood love: sewing and fashion design!Â
She started by taking evening classes at the Beaux-art in Nantes and then set off for Paris to study fashion and textile design at LISAA.
Since then, she has moved from Paris to Normandy and from England to Brussels, where she finally settled!Â
She has created several brands, and tested various projects, but it is in the one she launched in Brussels that she most recognizes herself. All the pieces within Leslie's brand are made entirely by her, from the choice of the fabric to the creation of the pattern. The number of models is limited: unique pieces or small series. The materials are of excellent quality and come mainly from the end of production of major brands.
She warmly welcomes you into her cosy workshop, complete with her little cat, which spends its day lounging around there. She looks forward to sharing her passion with you and, in particular, to introducing you to sewing - creating clothing that you will be proud to wear!Â
