Join Fiona, a talented London-based visual artist, for an immersive two-day weaving workshop where you'll create your very own scarf. The date on Wecandoo is the first day and the second date can be arranged with Fiona.Â
The workshop starts with an introduction to Fiona and her studio. You'll gain an insight into her creative process and learn how she integrates traditional techniques with contemporary flair.
Fiona will then guide you through setting up the loom from scratch. You'll choose your materials and get everything ready to weave. This fundamental step is crucial and Fiona's expert guidance will ensure you're well prepared for the weaving process.
You'll then dive into learning about the rigid heddle loom. Fiona will teach you the basics of warp and weft weaving and you'll have the opportunity to practice on a sample loom. This practice session will help you familiarise yourself with the techniques and materials before you start your main project.
On day two, you are ready to get started weaving your own scarf. Using a variety of materials and processes, Fiona will help you explore different textures and patterns to create a unique piece.Â
At the end of the workshop you'll have a beautiful handmade scarf to take home!
