Master of Porcelain
Amsterdam
Meet Anna, an artist with roots in St Petersburg, Russia.
Under the guidance of her father, a respected documentary filmmaker and photographer, Anna began honing her skills in drawing, composition and painting at an early age.
Anna's expertise lies primarily in porcelain and mosaic art, which can be found in museums, public spaces and private collections worldwide. Through years of study and experimentation she has developed innovative techniques in porcelain and polyurethane casting.
Based in Amsterdam, Anna's focus on porcelain art stems from her fascination with the beauty and fragility of flowers. Inspired by their ephemeral nature, she meticulously handcrafts each flower, using ancient Chinese recipes to achieve a delicate translucency.
The result is a collection of porcelain flowers with intricate detailing and delicate surfaces reminiscent of fine jewellery. Anna's work captures the essence of nature's beauty while showcasing the versatility of porcelain as a medium.
Anna Volkova's art invites the viewer to appreciate the timeless elegance of the flowers and the craftsmanship behind each piece.
