  • Join Jim for a workshop where you'll learn how to make your own reclaimed wood lamp. With a passion for woodworking and years of experience, Jim will guide you through the process of transforming salvaged materials into a beautiful piece for your home.

The experience begins with an introduction to Jim and his journey from web developer to artisan furniture maker. You'll discover the charm of reclaimed wood and why it's the perfect material to create something both sustainable and unique. From there, you'll choose your piece of wood and decide on the design of your lamp, guided by Jim's expert advice.

As the workshop progresses, you'll assemble your lamp step by step, learning how to attach the bulb securely to the wooden base. Then the fun really begins as you add your personal touches - choosing a colourful cord and a stain or oil to finish your lamp.

By the end of the session you'll have a stunning handmade lamp to take home!

    Meet Jim

    Wood worker

After two decades as a web developer in the technology industry, Jim decided to swap screens for sawdust and dive into his true passion - woodworking and furniture making.

When he's not in his workshop, Jim can often be found trail running or cycling through the picturesque South Downs, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around him. For Jim, working with wood is not just a craft; it's a mindful practice that offers moments of creativity and tranquillity in a busy world.

Jim's workshops are about sharing this experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or already adept with tools, he looks forward to guiding you through the rewarding process of woodworking and helping you create something unique with your own hands!
