In this place where stories intertwine, you will learn some pottery techniques to create your own ceramic board.
During this 2.5-hour session, you will mix your hands with the clay in a convivial atmosphere. The ceramicist will introduce you to the method of modeling, the clay, and all the tools available. Charlotte mainly works with stoneware, which offers numerous colour possibilities as well as resistance for daily use.
With the advice of the ceramicist, you will roll out the clay before cutting the desired diameter. After a little bit of modeling, you will need to smooth the clay. Then, you can personalise your board with engravings, slip, plant prints, and more.
Finally, the last step will be to work on the edges of your appetiser board. The ceramicist will take care of glazing and firing your piece, which you can pick up a few weeks later.
At the end of the workshop, the artisan may ask you to clean the equipment. Then, you can entrust your creation to the artisan who will take care of the drying, firing, and glazing. You will agree on the details of how to retrieve your creation directly with the artisan and can come back to pick it up some time later.

Practical information
To participate in this workshop, plan to wear comfortable clothing suitable for the workshop and for cleaning at the end of the workshop (such as leggings or trousers). It is also preferable to have short fingernails and hair tied back. Finally, if you can, remember to bring your own apron.
Having made ceramics since she was a child, Charlotte has turned her passion into her work!Ā
During her studies in nutrition and food, she rediscovered her childhood passion during a ceramic and molding module in food design. She then decided to restart ceramics classes with her friend Laura.
After a few months of lockdown, they decided to take the leap and equipped themselves to launch their own ceramic workshop. Their shared love for craftsmanship led them to create BISKUI, their very own ceramic workshop where they think, draw, and make their pieces.
Patient and dedicated, Charlotte will guide you step by step in the creation of unique pieces and will share with you her passion for ceramics!
