When you enter Emmanuelle's studio, a world of feathers awaits you!
For two hours, you will learn how to handle feathers in detail. The first half hour will be dedicated to an introduction to birds and their feathers, as Emmanuelle is also an ornithologist. You will play a little game to discover the different feathers and find the birds to which they belong.
Then it's time to get practical! Emmanuelle will show you the 5 basic techniques for working with feathers.
You will then choose the different feathers at the "feather bar" for your creation. There is a wide choice of patterns, colours and textures.
After a bit of carving and sculpting, you will place your feathers on a felt or a small metal base before proceeding with the final touches.
You will leave this workshop with an elegant brooch ready to accompany any outfit.

Plumassière
Plumassière and ornithologist, Emmanuelle is a passionate artisan!
As a child, she was always a collector. Her room was a little museum full of pebbles and feathers.
This devotion motivated her to turn to plumasserie. After graduating in textile design at ENSAV ( National School of Visual Arts of La Cambre), she wanted to do a job that was close to nature and textile design. Plumasserie ticked all the boxes!
She started working in different workshops to learn the craft before embarking on a course in ornithology.
Today, she is one of the two plumassières in Belgium and is looking forward to welcoming you to her studio!
