  • Welcome to Rachel's workshop where vintage fabrics are given new life through embroidery and upcycling.

The workshop starts with an introduction to Rachel and her brand. She will share her background in embroidery and upcycling as well as her passion for sustainability and community.

Each participant will be provided with a tea towel to work on and Rachel will provide tea and coffee. You are welcome to bring your own drink.

Rachel will guide you through the basics of embroidery, showing you how to set up your hoop and begin your design. She emphasises creativity over perfection and encourages you to express yourself freely.

With Rachel's guidance, you will begin to embroider your design onto the tea towel. As you work, you'll see your creation take shape.

At the end of the workshop, everyone gathers to admire each other's work.

When you leave, you will take with you not only a newfound skill in embroidery, but also a deeper appreciation for sustainability and craftsmanship!

    Wecandoo - Meet Rachel

    Meet Rachel

    Seamstress

Meet Rachel, the vibrant artisan who brings vintage fabrics back to life with her expertise in embroidery and upcycling. Initially introduced to sewing and crochet by her mother and grandmother, Rachel drifted away from the craft in her teens. However, in her twenties she rediscovered her passion for needlework and fully embraced it.

What sets Rachel apart is her unique approach to her work. She enjoys the playful aspects of embroidery, preferring a style that's whimsical and not overly precise. Rachel values sustainability and supports local initiatives. She takes discarded fabrics and transforms them into something beautiful, giving them a new purpose.

Eccentric, creative and fun-loving, Rachel loves learning and teaching and she's a social person with a great sense of style. Her workshops are not only about learning a skill, but also about connecting with others and promoting sustainability through mending.
