Get ready to embark on a musical journey like no other! In this hands-on workshop led by Lieven, young participants will have the unique opportunity to build their very own string instrument.

Discover the world of string instruments as you embark on building a Banjolele for instance, a delightful fusion of a small banjo and a ukulele. Using partially prepared parts, young participants will learn the art of instrument making while developing their skills and exploring their passion for music. From refining the neck with frets, a bridge, and a comb, to assembling the tuners and neck, each step is a captivating learning experience. And what's more, participants will have the joy of playing a piece of music on their very own creation. It's a truly magical experience!

For those seeking a unique and creative musical adventure, you can also create a Blitaar. Using a construction package, participants will delve into the world of this extraordinary instrument, which features a 33cl beverage can as a sound box and two strings. The Blitaar offers room for creativity, as different preserving cans with specific dimensions can also be incorporated, resulting in a range of distinctive sounds. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn the fundamental principles of string instruments, including placing frets for different tones, assembling tuners to tighten the strings, and adding the top comb, bridge, and strings. By the end of the workshop, participants will not only have built their very own Blitaar but will also learn to play a tune, giving voice to their creativity. And rest assured parents, you will also create your own musical instrument! To then play with your child.

At the end of the workshop, participants will proudly depart with their self-made Banjolele or Blitaar in hand. It's not just an instrument, but a testament to their creativity, craftsmanship, and the joy of bringing music to life.

Join an unforgettable musical adventure with Lieven, where creativity, craftsmanship, and the love of music come together. Don't miss this opportunity to build your own instrument and create lifelong memories.
