Join Eva for a hands-on weaving workshop where you'll spend the day learning how to create your own woven wall hanging.
In the morning you'll start with an introduction to Eva and her brand. She will talk about her background and her passion for weaving. Next you'll choose your yarn and select 2-3 colours for your wall hanging. You'll wrap your chosen yarn around a piece of card to visualise how it will look on the loom.
You'll then set up the loom by measuring the yarn, preparing the warp and threading the loom. Once the loom is ready, you'll start your weaving project.
Then it's time for lunch.
In the afternoon Eva will demonstrate various weaving techniques. You'll spend time weaving using the techniques you've learned. When you're finished, you'll carefully remove your work from the loom.
The final steps include tasseling and attaching your woven piece to a dowel. At the end of the workshop you'll have a handmade woven wall hanging to take home.
Join Eva for a day of learning and creativity!

Weaver
Meet Eva Dennis, a dedicated and creative artisan with a passion for craft. Eva's interest in craft began early in life when she attended various classes. This interest led her to study Fashion Design & Print at Central St Martins, where she discovered her true passion for weaving during her first year. Specialising in weaving marked the beginning of her professional journey.
After graduating in 2018, Eva won the Cockpit 'Make It' award, which provided her with a free studio for a year at Cockpit Studios in Bloomsbury. This opportunity allowed her to hone her skills and focus on her passion for sustainability and recycled materials.
Eva is committed to sustainability. She often visits charity shops to source second-hand clothing which she transforms into unique woven wall hangings. She carefully unravels these garments and uses individual threads to create new pieces. This method not only reuses discarded items, but also reflects her belief that everything has a purpose and should not go to waste.
Join Eva on her journey and learn from her innovative methods and dedication to creating a more sustainable world!
