Welcome to the ceramic workshop of Gioia and Franco!
Led by Gioia, an expert ceramicist with over four decades of experience, and her son Franco, the workshop offers a hands-on experience for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
The workshop begins with a throwing class where you will learn the basics of working on the pottery wheel. After a brief introduction to pottery, you will dive straight into preparing your clay and getting hands-on with the wheel.
Under the guidance of Gioia and Franco, you will learn the essential techniques and skills to create your own hand-thrown pieces. You will have the opportunity to make as many pieces as you like during the course and once you are happy with them, you can choose your favourite to be fired and glazed.
All materials including clay and tools are provided as part of the course. After the workshop your chosen piece will be fired and glazed and ready for collection within 2-3 weeks.
Gioia and Franco's workshop offers a practical and immersive experience where you can learn the art of ceramics and unleash your creativity !

I've had a few lessons and learned a lot! From being a total newbie to becoming a confident beginner, I've improved my throwing skills thanks to Gioia's patience, experience, and teaching style. I attended both with friends and on my own and enjoyed myself in both settings. Located right next to Broadway Market, I attended my class and had a lovely lunch afterwards. 10/10 experience!

My girlfriend and me had a wonderful afternoon learning pottery as absolute beginners from Gioia. After getting our hands on the clay first to get a feeling for it we quickly proceeded to work with the potter´s wheel. Gioia did some great explanations and showed us the basic techniques which enabled us to make some bowls. Working with the clay, creating something yourself and learning something new was a really great experience.
