  • Explore the art of woodcut printing in this hands-on workshop led by Alex, a skilled artisan with over two decades of experience in the craft.

Participants will use Japanese shina plywood and Japanese hosho paper to create prints, and over the course of the day will get to grips with the various tools and techniques.

Discover the work of contemporary woodcut artists and see examples to spark your own creative ideas.

Under Alex's guidance, learn how to design and carve your unique pattern, with time to experiment and refine your techniques.

Break for a delicious lunch, included in the session, to recharge for the creative process ahead.

In the second part of this workshop you will create your prints and even have the opportunity to learn other techniques if time allows. Complete your prints by applying pressure, revealing distinct outcomes in each creation.

At the end of the day, take home your prints and carved blocks, carefully packed in tubes for safekeeping.
