  • Welcome to Molten 1090, where glass blowing comes to life under Laura's careful guidance.Welcome to Molten 1090, where classic glass blowing techniques meet modern design and sustainability.

    During this workshop, you will be immersed in this art and learn different techniques.

    You'll start by creating simple pieces, exploring the texture of the glass and then mastering the use of the punch. The highlight of the experience? Working directly with Laura to create complex pieces, each movement guided by her expertise and experience.

    This workshop is suitable for beginners and experts alike, with Laura guiding you every step of the way and each participant will make a minimum of two glass pieces.

    Enter this magical studio where design and sustainability meet. Molten 1090 is a modern hot shop where you can learn about the history, and the future, of glass blowing. Let yourself be carried away and every moment will be a spark of creativity.A payment of Ā£10 (cash or card) will be required on the day of the workshop to cover the cost of shipping your pieces once they're completed. Please note this fee will cover the cost of shipping for up to 2 participants to a single address in the UK. Glass items are typically ready to be shipped 1 week after the workshop.

    Practical information

    As well as running glass blowing workshops, Molten1090 make their own beautiful handblown glassware. Workshop participants will be able to view the collections and will be entitled to 15% off any purchase whilst in the studio.

    Please wear clothing made from natural materials and ensure your arms are covered. Do not wear overly baggy clothing, especially around the arms. Wear flat, closed-toe shoes, preferably trainers and if you have long hair, please bring something to tie it up with. Please be aware that some areas of the studio can be cold when you are not actively working in the hotshop area, however we do have blankets to make up for it!

    You must have a booking to attend the workshop. If you wish to bring a guest to spectate there will be a charge on the day.

    Laura's motivation to share her knowledge is rooted in her desire to introduce others to her distinctive glass working philosophy. Through her workshops, participants gain an exclusive insight into her innovative methods and regenerative approach.

    Stepping into the Molten 1090 studio is a real treat. Bathed in natural light during the day, and decorated with beautiful ambient lighting of the studio's own design at night, it is full of Laura's collections and is a real hidden gem.
