    Ceramic Artist

Mihaly's journey into the realm of clay is a fascinating one. Before his pottery journey, Mihaly explored various creative endeavours. He manages a Hungarian restaurant, The Rosemary, where his pottery studio resides.

Mihaly is self-taught, meticulously crafting all the exquisite crockery adorning the tables at his restaurant.

The artisan's approach is distinct, emphasising ethical, local and organic practices. He relies on the potter's wheel's precision and the ancient art of Raku firing to breathe life into his creations.

Mihaly's mission is to share the therapeutic nature of working with clay, inviting others to discover their creative potential.

Inside his workshop, you'll find a cosy wooden sanctuary nestled behind the restaurant—a space where creativity thrives. You'll want to stay for hours!

As for Mihaly himself, you'll find him to be a delightful blend of humour and attentiveness. He's your creative confidant, always ready to assist and inspire.

As for Mihaly himself, envision a blend of humour and attentiveness. He's your creative companion, ever-ready to offer guidance and creative inspiration.

This was an amazing workshop! We bought for a 30th birthday present and we had a great time - we made and painted loads of lovely pots and were given so much time and help! Couldn't have asked for a better session, thanks so much!

We had a great time with Mihaly! There were 5 of us trying our best to be potters and Mihaly was brilliant - he is very patient, very complimentary, even when our creations were far from what we were expecting. He is so positive and encouraging! He showed us the different techniques and when we each got our wheel, he took time with each one of us, explaining, correcting, always with a smile. He is a great teacher and we felt very proud of our little creations, painted as well. Mihaly takes great care of the students, the equipment and the surrounding area as he was regularly cleaning and putting things away - all done seamlessly. He is calm, efficient and teaches you not to rush - this activity is very therapeutic. You are in for a treat when you go there! Köszönöm Mihaly!

Went with my wife, Friday Morning, 23/02/2024. Excellent experience. Mihaly was an excellent ( and patient ) teacher. When we started and he gave us a demonstration of what we were going to make, we looked at each other, as if to say, no way. But by the end of the 2.5 hours we had made and decorated our own bowls.....amazing. We, like a lot of people, had watched "Thrown Down" and thought, we would like a go of that. We now have a real appreciation of how difficult it is, but ultimately rewarding. It is held in the back of Mihaly's Hungarian restaurant. We are going back to not only pick up our fired items, but to have dinner as well!! This is highly recommended.

This workshop was amazing. Mihaly is super patient and gives you the right tools and techniques to do the pottery by yourself. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. I can only really recommend doing this workshop if you want to learn a lot in a short time and just have a wonderful experience working with your hands and being creative.
