Following a similar structure to our popular stool workshop, this extended experience offers you the opportunity to invest more time in creating a larger furniture piece. Under Tim's expert guidance, you will learn the core skills and techniques of traditional furniture making, enabling you to bring your vision to life.
One of the highlights of this workshop is the creation of a stunning bench. Tim will walk you through the step-by-step process of constructing a magnificent bench that will become a standout feature in your home. Utilising recycled scaffold planks, you will also learn the art of the Japanese scorching technique, known as Shou Sugi Ban, to achieve a breathtaking finish.
Throughout the workshop, you will enjoy energising breaks, providing you with an opportunity to mingle with fellow participants and indulge in delicious food and drinks. Lunch breaks during the two days will allow you to recharge and share your progress with others.

Meet Tim, a talented artist who found his passion for woodworking through a serendipitous journey. With a background in graphic design, Tim's curiosity led him to explore the art of craftsmanship and delve into the world of wood.
His journey began in 2015 when he crossed paths with the renowned woodworker, Barn the Spoon. Working alongside Barn, Tim honed his skills in traditional wood techniques, immersing himself in the intricacies of this timeless craft. What started as a fascination with understanding the process of creation evolved into a deep love for working with wood.
Tim's path took an exciting turn when he discovered The Green Wood Guild. Here, he embarked on a transformative experience, learning the art of woodworking without any prior formal training. Guided by his mentor, Barn, Tim mastered the craft, allowing his creativity to flourish.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Tim dedicates his time to teaching. Twice a week, he shares his expertise with children facing social disorder issues at a specialised academy. Teaching holds a special place in Tim's heart as he believes in empowering individuals, regardless of their experience, to take pride in their creations. His genuine joy in connecting with new people and nurturing their talents is what truly fuels his passion for teaching.

Tim provided an excellent workshop and I can’t recommend it enough! He is an outstanding teacher - kind, patient and knowledgeable. Over the course of 2 days I learnt so many new skills and at the end of the workshop I came away with a high-quality bench that I am so proud of.
