The workshop in detail

  • 3h
  • 2 to 3 participants
  • 15 years min.
  • Step into Kira's studio where she shares her expertise in creating stunning pieces of glass art. Trained at the Royal College of Art, Kira's focus is on the pate de verre technique which translate to 'glass paste'. This is a technique using glass powders and frits are moulded to create shapes.

Before diving into the workshop, Kira will give an overview of the techniques and safety precautions and you will see examples of her work as well as learning about colour theory and mixing.

During the workshop, Kira will teach you about plaster moulds and demonstrate how to mix powder and fine frit to create a paste. You will choose your colours and shapes before experimenting with applying the paste to moulds.

Once the pieces are finished, they are fired in the kiln and framed. Participants can collect their finished pieces in two weeks or have them shipped for an additional fee.

At Kira's workshop you will gain practical skills and knowledge in glass artistry, guided by Kira's expertise and commitment to sustainability.
