  • Enter Alfie's world, where culinary passion meets the art of craftsmanship in a humble workshop tucked away in Hampton.Ā

Guided by Alfie's expertise and your own culinary aspirations, you will create the blueprint for your perfect kitchen knife.

With a 30cm piece of stainless steel in hand, it is time to unleash your creativity and design your very own knife. Under Alfie's watchful eye, you will then use the angle grinder and metal band saw to shape the raw steel into the rough outline of your envisioned blade.Ā

Next comes the refinement stage, where the belt sander becomes your ally as you carve out the intricate details of your design under Alfie's expert guidance.

But you are not done yet - time to add a touch of flair. With the option to emboss and texture your blade, you can add character and charm to make it truly unique. Meanwhile, as your creation enters the heat treatment oven, you can choose the perfect handle material.

With a satisfying hiss, the blade is quenched, setting the stage for its final transformation. Into the tempering oven it goes, while you enjoy a well-earned lunch break - complete with a special treat: your very own hand-crafted bottle opener, courtesy of Alfie's generosity.

Refreshed and invigorated, you return to the workshop ready for the finishing touches. Grinding and finishing the blade, fitting and shaping the handles, guided by Alfie's steady hand.

With the handles securely in place, it is time for the grand finale - sharpening your knife. And that's it, your creation is complete !

    Meet Alfie

    Knife Maker

After spending years as a chef in busy kitchens, Alfie decided it was time for a change. But he didn't want to stray too far from his culinary roots. So he embarked on a journey to create something essential for every chef - knives.

In the heart of Hampton you'll find Alfie's workshop, tucked away in what used to be his cabin (or maybe just a converted garage). It is here, amidst the rhythmic clang of hammers, that Alfie works.

With a background in the culinary world, Alfie knows exactly what chefs look for in their tools. Combining this knowledge with his newfound forging skills, he creates knives that are not only functional, but works of art in their own right.

So what makes Alfie's knives different? It's not just the quality craftsmanship or the premium materials; it's the heart and soul he puts into each piece.

But Alfie's workshop isn't just a place for serious work; with his friendly and passionate demeanour, Alfie makes every crafting session a fun and memorable experience.

Join Alfie on his journey and discover the joy of handmade knives !
