Join Mihaly, an experienced ceramic artist, for a private pottery workshop for two.
Your session will begin with an introduction to Mihaly and his charming studio, which is set in the back of his cosy Hungarian restaurant. You'll learn about his artistic journey and passion for ceramics, setting the scene for an inspiring and educational workshop.
Mihaly will then demonstrate the use of the potter's wheel. Watching a skilled craftsman at work is always a treat and Mihaly's demonstration will give you a clear understanding of the techniques involved in throwing clay on the wheel.
Once you've seen the demonstration, it's your turn to get hands-on. Mihaly will guide you through the process of using the wheel, offering personalised tips and support to help you create your own pieces. Each participant will make four small bowls, perfect to give as a gift or to add a handmade touch to your home.
After the workshop, your creations will be fired and glazed, ready for collection within a week. All participants also receive a free glass of wine or beer when they stay in the restaurant for dinner after the workshop.

Meet Mihaly
Ceramic Artist
Mihaly's journey into the realm of clay is a fascinating one. Before his pottery journey, Mihaly explored various creative endeavours. He manages a Hungarian restaurant, The Rosemary, where his pottery studio resides.
Mihaly is self-taught, meticulously crafting all the exquisite crockery adorning the tables at his restaurant.
The artisan's approach is distinct, emphasising ethical, local and organic practices. He relies on the potter's wheel's precision and the ancient art of Raku firing to breathe life into his creations.
Mihaly's mission is to share the therapeutic nature of working with clay, inviting others to discover their creative potential.
Inside his workshop, you'll find a cosy wooden sanctuary nestled behind the restaurant—a space where creativity thrives. You'll want to stay for hours!
As for Mihaly himself, you'll find him to be a delightful blend of humour and attentiveness. He's your creative confidant, always ready to assist and inspire.
