Group Workshop: Join Violaine either in her studio or at your office for a hands-on pottery experience.
Introduce your team to ceramics and allow them to switch off from screens for a glorious 2 hour workshop working with clay.
The workshop starts with an introduction to Violaine and her brand, followed by a brief history of ceramics and working with clay.
Next you will learn how to prepare the clay by wedging, then shape it using basic pinching techniques.
Under Violaine's guidance, you will all explore different methods of surface decoration using tools and colored slip. You'll also learn how to add handles to your pieces if you wish.
Once you've created your pieces, choose which one you'd like to have fired.
After firing, Violaine will apply a transparent or white glaze to your creations before firing them again at high temperatures.
In 4-6 weeks your ceramic creations will be ready to be collected from the studio!
Suitable for all levels of experience, Violaine's workshop is a unique opportunity to learn how to create your own ceramics!
Workshop location
The studio is easily accessible by public transport. For ‘on the go’ workshops, the workshop can be organised at the location of your choice within the artisan's approved radius.

Practical information
If you choose to host Violaine in your space, you will need to allow 30 minutes for setup and 30 minutes to an hour for packing up. Access to running water, chairs, and tables is required.
Meet Violaine
Ceramicist
Meet Violaine, a skilled ceramic artist based in Shoreditch. Violaine discovered her love for working with clay in 2018, after attending a wheel-throwing workshop. She practised consistently, selling her creations, and fell in love with the craft. So much so that she left her career as a Design and Art Director to pursue her ceramics business full-time!
You can see influences from Violaine's French background in her chic ceramic style. While continuing to explore new techniques, recently focusing on sgraffito surface pattern, this sophisticated and clean look runs through her collections.
With over three years of teaching experience at a London pottery school, Violaine now invites enthusiasts to visit her in her studio where you will be truly immersed in an artist's space. Whether you're a beginner or intermediate, Violaine offers a supportive environment to learn and create your own ceramics from scratch.
