This workshop begins with a hot drink and a warm welcome to the award winning Ed the Baker. You will learn about Ed, his products and the ingredients that go into his award winning quiches.
Firstly, you will learn to make the shortcrust pastry case for your quiche. Ed will guide you step by step, giving all the tips to achieve the perfect texture.
Next you will roll the pastry out to ensure a thin and crisp case before blind baking in the oven.
While the pastry is cooking you will prepare a seasonal filling, including the great taste award winning fillings. The fillings on the day will be seasonal and there will always be a meat free option. Example fillings include mushroom, white wine and cheddar or Lancashire cheese and jalapeno.
When your pastry case is out of the oven you will fill it with your chosen quiche flavour and back in the oven it goes.
While waiting for your quiches to bake, you will enjoy a break and freshly baked treats from South East London's master baker himself.
Take your quiche home to enjoy, serves 6-8.
